Career Highlights
Janice specializes in working with life science, clean-tech and technology companies throughout the Bay Area from representing start-ups to large conglomerates such as Abbott Laboratories. She understands what it takes to get the transaction done with extensive experience representing both Landlords and Tenants. Janice also knows the challenges associated with finding smaller lab space, but uses every resource to make them available to her clients.
She views her client service commitment as a continuous cycle; one that does not end with the closing of a transaction. Her focus is on working collaboratively with her clients to clarify both immediate and long-term objectives, define a strategy, and capture market opportunities as they arise.
Ms. Hennessey is currently working with the largest science and technology developer; Alexandria Real Estate Equities on their 2.7 million square foot project in Mission Bay San Francisco. This remarkable project will be one of several that will help reduce carbon footprints by offering a live/work community.
Prior to joining GVA Kidder Mathews, Janice worked at CB Richard Ellis in Sacramento, where she specialized in Office Properties working with notable Landlords and Tenants such as Harsch Investments, Embarcadero Capital Partners, GE Healthcare, Merrill Lynch, Citigroup, Wells Fargo, IndyMac Bank, Financial Freedom Senior Funding, and others.
Prior to her career in commercial real estate, Janice worked for Purolator Advanced Filtration Group, Liquid Process Division, a biotech manufacturer, as a Purchasing Director. Purolator Advanced Filtration Group produces a wide range of filtration products specifically designed for biological and pharmaceutical applications. Janice ensured that purchased raw materials met application specific requirements including compliance to USP, ASTM, and ISO test methods.
Janice has also worked as a statistician while at UC Davis Medical Center performing research and statistics for patient related studies for the Department of Nursing.
Janice is involved in the firm’s Life Science and Cleantech Practice Group, BayBio’s Gene Acres and Real Estate Survey Committee, and the Bay Area Healthcare Club. She is a member of the Urban Land Institute, BayBio, Venture Capital Taskforce, and a CCIM candidate. Janice also volunteers for the National Kidney Foundation.
