GVA
Kidder Mathews combined its development services and property management
capabilities, which resulted in an adaptive re-use of the Holman
Transfer Building, a warehouse built in 1951 on Portland, Oregon’s,
waterfront. Acquired by the Portland Development Commission in 2002, as
part of the Central Eastside Urban Renewal Area, GVA Kidder Mathews was
retained by its subsequent owner to redevelop the property as a class A,
99,000 square foot, state-of-the-art office property. Working in
concert with lead architect, Group McKenzie, the firm provided
specialized expertise that mitigated design and construction risks,
value engineered systems, coordinated consultants and special interest
group input, and managed construction and the budget through completion.
River East Center is 100% leased and GVA Kidder Mathews manages the
property with operating protocols consistent with its LEED-EB Gold
certification.
