I had the pleasure of working with Carla Scimemi on a few, substantial, and complex lease transactions for the University of California San Francisco (UCSF), on behalf of The Regents of the University of California.

The University of California has specific organizational processes and systems which are intricate and unique. The organization protocol within the University poses challenges to counterparts in the commercial sector. It takes a very savvy professional that encompasses a depth of understanding to coordinate lease transactions between the corporate sector and the University.

For several years Carla Scimemi has successfully brokered on the Landlord's behalf commercial space UCSF selected to lease in the County of San Francisco. This entailed Carla to effectively work with UCSF's Real Estate department that included approvals and collaboration from counterparts in the Office of the President, Deans, Vice Chancellors, Medical Center, and Department Chairs.

As an early stage company in need of new office space for our growing business we didn't have the resources to become experts in the commercial real-estate market. We took some of the basic steps of looking through and other commercial real-estate listings, but it was all very hit or miss.
