Karen Carter is a senior property manager in Kidder Mathews’ Reno office. With 20 years of commercial real estate experience in the Reno market, Karen has embraced comprehensive responsibility for property operations, property accounting, tenant improvements and capital projects, tenant and customer relations, financial management and reporting, and investment management. As a property team leader, Karen has managed, coached, and directed multiple staff responsible for 16 million square feet of commercial space. With deep, abiding relationships among the Reno commercial brokerage community, developed and nurtured from her many years with Prologis, Karen is a trusted colleague and team member.
Karen has managed a wide range of commercial properties. As senior property manager for a NYSE-traded REIT with a $25.5 billion market capitalization, Karen understands the performance expectations, reporting requirements, operating protocols, and investment management perspective of the institutional investor.
Prior to joining Kidder Mathews, Karen was a senior property manager with Prologis. During her tenure with Prologis, Karen managed up to 16 million square feet of assets with a 12 person management team. Most recently, Karen managed a 4.8 million square foot industrial warehouse portfolio for Prologis. Previously, Karen was a senior property manager with NAI Alliance where she managed an industrial and retail portfolio and supervised a team of maintenance technicians, administrative assistants, and accountants.
Education & Community Involvement
Karen is a licensed real estate agent in the state of Nevada. She is a member of IREM, BOMA, and CREW, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in business administration from the University of Nevada with a major in accounting.
With a deep commitment to the Reno community, Karen has volunteered with Veteran’s Guest House, the Salvation Army, and Habitat for Humanity.
