John Austin

John has over 35 years of overall experience in retail brokerage, including tenant representation, leasing, development, and investments. He has worked extensively throughout northern California and the central valley. His efforts have resulted in more than 800 transactions and the development of several major shopping centers.

Prior to joining Kidder Mathews, John worked for Core Commercial. He also worked for CBRE, where he was awarded the National Retail Corporate Service Award for work as the national account manager for Kmart. From 1994 through 2001, he established and managed a national team of 84 brokers, covering 26 states and successfully completed approximately 400 transactions for Kmart. Current tenant representation includes: McDonald’s and ARCO and other national brands on a per assignment basis. John has 33 years of sector wide brokerage experience, covering retail development projects, tenant representation, leasing and investments. He has extensive knowledge of California’s northern and central valley trade areas from Redding to Bakersfield with client objectives successfully accomplished in each area. His efforts have resulted in more than 800 successfully concluded transactions representing landlords, developers, tenants and investors.
