Clinicient is latest tech firm to make big office move

A Portland medical billing software company is the latest tech firm to lease new office space in downtown.

Clinicient, which provides management and billing software for outpatient rehabilitation businesses, leased 27,000 square feet at the historic Mohawk building, 708 S.W. Third Ave. It will occupy the third and fourth floors, reports CoStar Group.

The deal comes just a month after Clinicient announced it closed a $15 million Series C funding round with Catalyst Investors and named Rick Jung its chairman and CEO.

Jung wasn't immediately available to discuss the expansion. Clinicient currently operates at 1515 S.W. Fifth Ave.

Clinicient joins a string of tech firms signing deals allowing them to expand downtown or at least, downtown adjacent.

Among them:

  • Webtrends moves to U.S. Bancorp Tower, 111 S.W. Fifth Ave., in May.

  • Jama Software is relocating from the Pearl District to 2&Taylor (formerly Bally Total Fitness) once Melvin Mark Cos. completes a rehab of the building, aka Yamhill Marketplace.

  • San Francisco-based Airbnb is opening an office in the Blagen Block, 34 N.W. First Ave.

  • And later this year, Viewpoint Construction Software will expand across Southeast Water Avenue into a form Portland General Electric warehouse being renovated into creative office by Vancouver-based Killian Pacific.

Chris Elsenbach of Cresa Portland represented Clinicient; Brandon O'Leary of Kidder Mathews represented the landlord, LaeRoc Partners, Inc.
