Phenix Salon Suites will continue its expansion in the Sacramento region with a new store in Roseville.
The business will occupy a little less than two-thirds of a 9,520-square-foot retail building recently sold at 354 N. Sunrise Ave. According to public records, Chrystel Goss/Lydia Josephine Mazer Trustees sold the building to David and Sharon Curtis of Burlingame earlier this month for $1.35 million.
Jon Walker, a senior vice president with Kidder Mathews who worked on the deal on behalf of the seller, said that’s notably low for a retail property in Roseville.
Although the building is in the successful Center Pointe Shopping Center, it’s well set back from Sunrise, he said. “We had quite a bit of interest because the price point was good,” he said.
Not being as visible, though, won’t be a problem for Phenix, because the salon isn’t planning to attract drive-by traffic, he said. Rather, the salon’s reputation will make it a regular destination for its clients. That will benefit not only other retailers in the center but the building itself.
Walker said the building was designed for two tenants. Phenix Salon Suites will occupy about 6,000 square feet, and Walker said he’d expect it to open relatively soon. A broker for Phenix did not return a call seeking more information.
Phenix Salon Suites is planning to open at least three other locations in the region: midtown Sacramento, Folsom and Rocklin.
