Kidder Mathews hires brokers, plans new office

The local office of a new brokerage in the region, Kidder Mathews, has signed up three new brokers - and plans on bringing in more.

Bruce Wirt and Dennis Shorrock, formerly of TRI Commercial, have joined the company along with Tom Bacon, a veteran of commercial real estate who most recently had his own eponymously named firm.

Managing partner Kevin Sheehan said the firm had its sights on those brokers, but they also reached out to Kidder Mathews independently.

"This company is very pro-broker," Sheehan said. "They're good at marketing support, and they've really gotten behind us."

Wirt has a background in land sales and office leasing, while Shorrock has specialized in office. Bacon will also focus on office and use his expertise in investment sales, Sheehan said. All three will be senior vice presidents with Kidder Mathews, which established a Sacramento region office last year.

Over this year, Sheehan said he'd like to add another six to eight brokers, and also establish an office in central Sacramento. Kidder Mathews' main local office is in Roseville.

Recruiting new brokers shouldn't be difficult. Sheehan said the company's platform is both easy to understand and ends up with higher percentage "splits" for brokers. They also like the emphasis on marketing, he said.
