Wellness in Washington's Best Workplaces

Puget Sound Business Journal

More than 1,200 people came to cheer at Safeco Field one evening last summer, and the Mariners didn't have a game.

They came to celebrate Puget Sound Business Journal's 2015 Washington's Best Workplaces - 80 companies that scored highest during an employee survey administered for the PSBJ by Quantum Workplaces.

In the spirit of learning from the best, we've compiled some of the steps those 80 companies take to promote wellness among their employees.

CASH INCENTIVES

Cash incentives are part of many employee wellness programs. They take many forms. For example, Northwest Staffing Resources reimburses up to $100 per year per employee for any purchase they have made that promotes wellness (marathons, walking events, personal trainers, yoga/pilates classes, juice cleanses). At Regence BlueShield, completing a health risk assessment earns an employee $25, and a Biometric Bucks program awards up to $130 for hitting or improving on certain health measures.
