The independently owned Kidder Mathews commercial brokerage firm has hired four more veteran brokers for a total of eight at its newly-opened office in Del Mar Heights.
Mickey Morera, James Duncan and Jeff Brown are specialists in sales and leasing of industrial and R&D properties. Prior to joining Kidder Mathews, all three were with Cushman & Wakefield. Jim Benson also joins the firm as an industrial specialist who was formerly with Cassidy Turley/DTZ.
When Kidder Mathews announced earlier this year that it had opened the Del Mar Heights office, it also revealed that Cushman & Wakefield veterans Ron King, Joe McDermott and Robert Willingham had joined the firm, which also hired Mark Read at that time. Read had held top executive positions at CBRE and Voit Real Estate Services before becoming a Kidder Mathews managing partner.
"The pace of our growth in just a few weeks has been phenomenal," said Read in a statement. "The attraction is attributable to a few things: the platform Kidder Mathews offers that no one else has, plus fantastic tools and resources, favorable commissions to the brokers (up to 90 percent), opportunity for ownership to all producers, and a lack of cumbersome corporate processes that many of our competitors employ."
Morera has been named executive vice president. Over the course of his 28-year career, Morera has successfully negotiated leases and sales in excess of 25 million square feet with a total transaction volume of $2.5 billion. Clients he has represented include HCP Life Science Estates, CBRE Global Investors, Kilroy Realty, Westcore Properties, Ryan Companies, LBA Realty, KBS Realty Advisors, Kearny Real Estate, First Industrial Realty Trust, and LNR Property LLC.
Duncan is a senior vice president with 17 years of experience in commercial real estate. He has leased and sold more than 9.5 million square feet of commercial real estate space with a total transaction volume of more than $882 million.
Brown has been named vice president for Kidder. During his career he has sold and leased more than 1.2 million square feet with a total transaction volume in excess of $150 million.
Benson has been named vice president and has more than 18 years of experience in commercial real estate in North San Diego. During Benson's career, he has sold and leased a total volume of more than $300 million.
Kidder Mathews currently manages about 800,000 square feet of biotech space on and around the Torrey Pines mesa, among its other contracts.
