Kidder expands in the golden state

Seattle-based commercial real estate company Kidder Mathews last week announced plans for a major expansion into California. The company hired industry veteran Jim Bowles to oversee the push, which includes its first Southern California office, in San Diego.
"I just couldn't bring in anybody from the outside," Kidder CEO Jeff Lyon said of his decision to hire Bowles. "To bring in Jim is really significant for us because of the breadth of his experience."
Bowles has led operations in the Puget Sound region for some of Kidder's biggest competitors, including CBRE, which he managed for 13 years until resigning at the end of June.
