TACOMA - Tacoma has issued a request for interest in developing a site at 415 E. 25th St., near the Tacoma Dome and Sounder stations.
The city and Pierce Transit want to redevelop the site, which was used for staging during construction of the Tacoma Dome Station.
The site is part of the city's multi-modal transit hub: near light rail, Amtrak, and local and regional buses.
The city said in a press release that more than 1.7 million trips are logged from these locations annually, including 4,500 people who use transit there every day.
A 2013 market study done by Kidder Mathews, BLRB Architects and Van Ness Feldman found the site would be good for up to 100 units of multifamily housing. Zoning allows a mix of uses, and the height limit is 100 feet.
Responses are due Aug. 25. For more information, email cityoftacoma.org or call Patricia Beard at (253) 591-5039.
